JEFFERSON CITY — One person was killed and one suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash Monday morning on Highway 51 in Perry County,
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 24-year-old Robert C. Seibel of Ste. Genevieve was pronounced at the scene at 6:52 a.m. by Perry County Coroner William Bohnert.
The Highway Patrol says Seibel was the driver of a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt which crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2015 Ford Transit van. The driver of the transit van, 66-year-old Carl L. Duffie of St. Libory, Illinois received moderate injuries and was taken to St. Louis University Hospital by Air Evac helicopter.
The patrol says Seibel was unrestrained while Duffie was buckled up.
The Cobalt was a total loss. The transit van had moderate damage.
The crash happened about 5:55 a.m. 100 feet north of Perry County Road 210.
