Ste. Genevieve County Commission approves statuary placement near courthouse

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve County Commission has approved the placing of a scuplture on the grounds of the county courthouse near the new home of the Ste. Genevieve Art Guild in the former Ste. Genevieve Museum Building. The vote to “approve the allowance of the Ste. Genevieve Art Guild to proceed wth ‘sculpture placement” on a motion by Associate County Commissioner Karen Stupy was unanimous.

The idea was proposed to the commission by Carolyn Bach and Leon Basler.

The action was noted in the minutes of the Thursday, April 13 meeting of the commission, which were released on Monday along with a sketch of the sculpture.
