New COVID-19 cases fall to 1,871 in Missouri

JEFFERSON CITY — The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports 1,871 new cases of COVID-19 in the seven days ending April 9 which is down 599 from the previous report.

 

Older persons had the highest number of new cases: 83.6 for those aged 85 and up and 57.5 for those aged 65-84.

 

There were 11 cases for those under 12 years of age.

 

There were 9 new cases among persons aged 12-17.

 

The other categories: 18-24: 27 new cases; 25-44: 27 new cases and 45-64: 32 new cases.

 

Ste. Genevieve County had fewer than 10 new cases.

 

Perry County had fewer than 10 new cases.

 

Jefferson County had 61 new cases.

 

St. Francois County had 25 new cases.

 

Madison County had fewer than 41 new cases.

 

Bollinger County had fewer than 10 new cases.

 

Cape Girardeau County had 19 new cases.

 

 

All of Missouri’s counties were in the low community level category.
