Betty J. Wingerter

A funeral will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 for 88-year-old Betty J. Wingerter of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 6:42 pm, Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.

 

She was born June 28, 1934 in Cairo, Illinois, the daughter of Harve Jolly and Mary Murray who both preceded him in death.

 

Betty married Clifford Wingerter March 30, 1951 in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on October 17, 2013.

 

She is survived by four children: Keith (Debbie) Wingerter of Chester, Ill., Cindy Grah of Sparta, Ill.,

Debbie (Randy) Eggemeyer of Ellis Grove, Ill. and Tammy Milligan of Cutler, Ill.; two siblings:

Tom (Wanda) Tindall Granite City of Ill. and Carolyn Gay of Mulberry, Fla..; 12 grandchildren:

Tracy (Steve) Hooper, Christopher (Nikki) Wingerter, Bryan (Miranda) Cushman, Marcus (Stacey) Wingerter, Melissa (Shawn) Collins, Jaime (Brandon) Clasen, Lori (Doug) McDonald, Kenny Milligan, Eric (Heather) Wingerter, Kelly (Shawn) Kueker, Emily Milligan and Lanny (Erica) Eggemeyer; 31 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

She was also preceded in death by a son: Michael Ray Wingerter, three siblings: Linda Lassen, David Tindall and Susan Drayton and two sons-in-law: Clinton Milligan and Michael Grah.

 

She was a homemaker.

 

Betty was of Lutheran Faith.

 

She enjoyed reading, word puzzles and loved spending time with her family.

 

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Illinois.

 

A funeral for 88-year-old Betty J. Wingerter of Chester will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2023 at  the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Illinois. The Rev. Phillip Keeton will officiate.

 

Interment will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Rockwood, Illinois.

 

Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
