STE. GENEVIEVE – Sales tax receipts took a dip in March, but the year to date total remains higher than last year at this time.
Ste. Genevieve’s one percent sales tax brought in $61,893.44 last month which is down $1,833.95 from March of 2022. So far this calendar year the sales tax has brought in $208,714.32, which is an increase of $24,005.70 from the first three months of 2022.
The city’s two half-cent taxes: for public mass transportation and capital improvements each brought in about $28,148, which was also down from March 2022. Like the one cent sales tax both of the half cent taxes have brought in more in the first three months of 2023 than in the same period last year. The total brought in by each of these taxes totaled $97,517.18.
The city’s fourth sales tax, the consolidated city use tax brought in $19,008.25 in March, $3,125.06 more than March of 2022. Through the first three months of this year, the consolidated city use tax has brought in $58,750.53, which is up $6,882.94 from the first three months of 2022.
