STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. – The Ste. Genevieve Community Services Forum has announced its upcoming drive-thru drug take back events, which will take place on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. till 12 noon at two convenient locations: the Ste. Genevieve Firehouse and the Bloomsdale Medical Centre.
Improper disposal of medication can lead to serious consequences such as accidental ingestion by children or pets, as well as environmental pollution by drugs seeping into water sources. To combat this problem, the Ste. Genevieve Community Services Forum hosts biannual free drive-thru drug take back events to allow residents of the county to safely, conveniently, and anonymously dispose of any expired or unwanted prescription medications.
Prescription and over-the-counter medications will be accepted in pill or liquid form. Pet medicines, EpiPens, and needles will also be accepted.
“We are excited to (hold) this event, which provides a much-needed service to our community,” said Estrella Carmona, Secretary of the Community Services Forum. “The Drive-Thru Drug Take Back event is an important step towards promoting safe and responsible medication disposal.”
If you have any questions or inquiries about the event, please contact Estrella Carmona at (573) 883-3548.
