Bloomsdale teen hurt in Route Z crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 16-year-old Bloomsdale girl suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash on Route Z in Ste. Genevieve County Monday night.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the girl, whose name was not released, was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital by an Air Evac helicopter.

 

The patrol says the crash happened when a westbound 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by the girl crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, crossed the center line before traveling off the right side of the roadway and through a ditch striking two trees.

 

The crash happened about 10:02 p.m. east of Cedar Valley Lane.

 

The patrol says the girl was buckled up.

 

The Cobalt was a total loss.
