Randolph County voter turn out was 19 percent or 3,743

CHESTER –  Nineteen percent of Randolph County voters went to the polls in yesterday’s consolidated election. That’s 3,743 out of 19,703.

 

In Chester: Don Berry and Joseph Allison vied for Ward Three Alderperson: Berry won it with 199 or 80 percent of the vote. Allison had 62 votes, or 20 percent.

 

In Chester’s fourth ward Danny Valleroy and Ray Allison sought the seat. Valleroy won it with 144 votes or 65 percent and Allison had 76 votes or 34 percent.

 

Voters approved the creation of a Coulterville Library District, 129 to 30, or 81 percent to 18 percent.
