Dear Editor:
As election Tuesday approaches I would like to take the opportunity to urge all of our citizens to get out and vote.
In a representative republic it is important to have an informed and participating electorate. I believe that these elections are probably more important to the daily lives of most of our citizens than the state and national elections that get so much more attention. I think that most of our public servants are more effective at a local level than those farther from their constituents.
Our right to vote is a privilege and responsibility we should not take lightly.
I applaud all those that avail themselves to public service. I hope that in the future we was will see more young people that take an interest in serving our public institutions.
We need to take a serious look at all of our institutions to see that they are preforming at the highest level possible and that we are receiving the results we expect and deserve.
Whatever your feelings may be about any candidate or issue, I hope that we all can appreciate the importance of these matters to our community.
A strong, academically successful school district is imperative to provide a vibrant, economically secure community in the future.
I ask for your support and vote to help us in our pursuit of excellence in our educational system. Excellence in education is something we should all be able to agree on.
Thanks,
John
