JEFFERSON CITY — A 42-year-old San Luis, Arizona man died in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Monday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Edgar G. Rubio-Goncales was pronounced at the scene by a Ste. Genevieve County Assistant Coroner.
The patrol says the crash happened when a southbound 1993 Ford L8000 driven by Rubio-Goncales suffered a mechanical failure, travelled off the left side of the roadway, struck the cable barrier, overturned and caught on fire.
The crash happened about 10:55 p.m. north of the 160.4 mile marker.
