St. Louis man injured in Friday morning crash on I-55

JEFFERSON CITY — A 64-year-old man from St. Louis was hurt in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Friday at 10:49 a.m.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Alfred L. Whitehead received minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital – South by a Ste. Genevieve County ambulance.

 

The patrol says Whitehead was the driver of a southbound 2005 Buick Park Avenue which ran off the west side of the roadway, struck a rock embankment, returned to the roadway and came to rest upright.

 

A nine-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Buick was not hurt.

 

Both occupants of the car were buckled up.

 

The crash happened at the 142 mile marker.

 

The Buick received extensive damage.
