Emeralds place fourth in state dance competition

STE, GENEVIEVE – The SGHS Emeralds Dance Team attended their first ever state championships Saturday in Kansas City and are coming home with a 4th place finish.

 

Girls’ Basketball

 

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent defeated Oran 63-55 to win the Class 2 District 3 Tournament crown Friday night. The girls advance to the sectional round Tuesday at 6 p.m. when they play New Haven at Park Hills. KSGM Radio will go live from Park Hills starting with the pregame at 5:40 and Tip-off following. STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste Genevieve received the No. 3 seed in the Class 4 District 2 Basketball Tournament and will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday vs. the sixth seed Bayless at SGHS.

 

Admission is $6 for each day of the tournament. Cash only.

 

PERRYVILLE – Perryville has the fifth seed in the Class 4 District 1 tournament and will play fourth seed Dexter at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

 

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran has the second seed in the Class 4 District 1 tournament and will play the winner of the Feb. 28 game between third seed Fredericktown and sixth seed Kennett at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

 

Boys’ Basketball

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent lost to Principia 58-45 in the district tournament championship game at Crystal City Friday night.

 

Principia led 12-7 after one, 30-19 at the half and 46-27 after three. St. Vincent out scored Principia 18-12 in the fourth quarter for the final margin.

 

Blake Monier led the Indians with 17 points. Grant Abernathy had 13, Jacob Schremp had seven, Simon Unterreiner had five, Dylan DeWidle had three.

 

St. Vincent ends the season at 16-12.

 

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran lost to Charleston 76-57 Friday night in their district tournament. The Crusaders finish the season with a 19-10 record. 

 

STE. GENEVIEVE — Ste. Genevieve has the second seed in the Class 4 District 2 Tournament.

 

The Dragons will play either fourth seed Herculaneum or fifth seed Affton at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

 

PERRYVILLE – Perryville has the sixth seed in the Class 4 District 1 Tournament.

 

The Pirates play third seed Notre Dame of Cape Girardeau at 7 p.m. Monday.

 

CHS softball parent meeting set

CHESTER – Chester High School Softball will have a parent meeting following tryouts tonight..  Parents are welcome to attend tryouts also, but the meeting is expected to begin at 5:45PM.  Location will be announced later. 

 

One parent or guardian is required to attend a coaches/parents meeting prior their player participating in a game.  If the 27th does not work with your schedule, please contact me for an alternate date.

 

This Try-out is open to any girl who is attending CHS. Even if you haven’t attended an open gym/field practice and still want to try out, you are more then welcome to come.
