Thousands of students to tune in for virtual Health Care Career Day

JEFFERSON CITY — Even before COVID-19, Missouri faced a critical shortage of health care workers. The pandemic has only heightened the need for these professionals. In order to help increase the talent pipeline for years to come, the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting a virtual Health Care Career Day to inspire students to pursue health care careers on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023.

This free event for students and educators will showcase Missouri’s cutting-edge health care organizations and educational institutions, highlighting a variety of health care career pathways with video tours and interviews, as well as live Q&A with real Missouri health care professionals.

More than 6,000 K-12 and higher education students, across 17 states and roughly 300 schools, are registered to attend.

Featured organizations include Children’s Mercy, Mosaic Life Care, University Health, Saint Luke’s Health, SSM Health, Citizens Memorial Hospital, Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital and Boone Health. The full agenda is available at mochamber.com/health-care-career-day.

Health Care Career Day was developed by the Missouri Chamber Foundation in partnership with the Missouri Hospital Association and the Missouri Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education.
