Boys’ Basketball

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle lost to top seed Charleston 85-56 in the Class 3 District 2 Tournament to finish the season with a 16-11 record.

 

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran defeated Woodland 81-63 last night in the Class 3 District 2 Tournament.

 

The Crusaders will play Charleston at 7 p.m. Friday as the tournament continues.

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent topped Crystal City 90-69 last night at 7:30 in the Class 2 District 4 Tournament at Crystal City.

 

St. Vincent led 23-13 after one, 50-35 at the half and 70-56 after three, the Indians outscored Crystal City 20-13 in the fourth quarter for the final margin. Blake Monier had 21 points to lead the Indians. Jacob Schremp had 19, Grant Abernathy had 18, Simon Unterreiner 13, Payton Strattmann had 10, Max Wheeler had seven, and Dylan DeWilde had two.

 

With the win the varsity is 16-11 on the season.

 

St.Vincent will play Principia for the district crown Friday at 7 p.m.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE — Ste. Genevieve plays freshmen, junior varsity and varsity games with visiting  Perryville today. It will be senior night.

 

Ste. Genevieve has the second seed in the Class 4 District 2 Tournament.

The Dragons will play either fourth seed Herculaneum or fifth seed Affton at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 1st.

 

PERRYVILLE – Perryville has the sixth seed in the Class 4 District 1 Tournament.

The Pirates play third seed Notre Dame of Cape Girardeau at 7 p.m. Monday.

 

 

Girls’ Basketball

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle lost to Crystal City 51-21 in a quarterfinal round game in the Class 2 District 4 Tournament, ending the season for the Lady Warriors.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve defeated  De Soto 58-45.

 

Ste Genevieve received the No. 3 seed in the Class 4 District 2 Basketball Tournament and will play Tuesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. vs. the sixth seed Bayless at SGHS.

 

Admission is $6 for each day of the tournament. Cash only.

 

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran lost to Doniphan 60-44 Tuesday night.

 

The Lady Crusaders have the second seed in the Class 4 District 1 tournament and will play the winner of the Feb. 28 game between third seed Fredericktown and sixth seed Kennett at 7 p.m. on March 2nd.

 

PERRYVILLE – Perryville has the fifth seed in the Class 4 District 1 tournament and will play fourth seed Dexter at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent has the top seed in the Class 2 District 3 Tournament and will play either fourth seed Puxico or fifth seed Greenville at 6 p.m. Thursday.

 

High School Wrestling

STE GENEVIEVE — Day 1 of the State Wrestling Meet is in the books.

 

Addison Geiler went 2-0 on the day and will wrestle again today in the semis.

 

Hailey Wheeler is 2-1 and will also wrestle today in 3rd round wrestlebacks.

 

Nine of the 12 boy wrestlers are still alive and wrestle again today.

 

Drake Meyer, Bryant Schwent, Isaiah Basler, Evan Winters, Mason Langeneckert, Gabe Willett, Dalton McBride, and Jacob Schweigert each have 2 wins, 1 loss. Gage Gross is 2-0 and will wrestle in the semis today.

 

The team is currently in fourth place with 49 points as wrestling begins today.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle’s Espn Reed survived the first day of the state wrestling tournament and will compete again today.

 

CHS softball parent meeting set

CHESTER – Chester High School Softball will have a parent meeting following tryouts on Monday, February 27th.  Parents are welcome to attend tryouts also, but the meeting is expected to begin at 5:45PM.  Location will be announced later. 

 

One parent or guardian is required to attend a coaches/parents meeting prior their player participating in a game.  If the 27th does not work with your schedule, please contact me for an alternate date.

 

This Try-out is open to any girl who is attending CHS. Even if you haven’t attended an open gym/field practice and still want to try out, you are more then welcome to come.
