Board of Aldermen Meeting
Thursday, February 9th, 2023
6:00 p.m.
1. Be it Remembered: A regular meeting of the St. Mary Board of Aldermen was called to order by the Honorable Mayor Carlton Wyatt on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 beginning at 6:00 PM at City Hall located at 782 3rd Street, St. Mary, Missouri 63673.
2. Pledge of Allegiance: The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.
3. Roll Call: Aldermen answering the roll call were Alderman Annette Hacker, Alderman Karl Schultz, Alderman Dr. Zen Duda and Alderman Ron Barnett (absent).
4. Agenda: A motion was made by Alderman Annette Hacker to approve the agenda. Alderman Karl Schultz seconded the motion. Alderman Karl Schultz, Alderman Dr. Zen Duda and Alderman Annette Hacker voted yea on a voice vote. Motion carried.
5. Consent Agenda: A motion was made by Alderman Annette Hacker to approve the Consent Agenda which consists of the following: Minutes from Previous Meeting, Treasurers Report, Collectors Report and Bills Paid and City Manager to pay previously appropriated expenses as they come due as allowed by the budget. Alderman Zenon Duda seconded the motion. Alderman Karl Schultz, Alderman Dr. Zen Duda and Alderman Annette Hacker voted yea on a voice vote. Motion carried.
6. Public Forum: Nobody signed up to speak.

7. Department Reports:
A. Emergency Management – Director April Grindstaff had nothing to report.
B. Police Department – Police Chief Brendon Corbett was not here for the meeting.
C. Fire Department – Alderman Annette Hacker gave the floor to Fire Chief Frankie Ullman reported that they had 2 commercial Fire calls for Ste. Genevieve. The air lines on the trucks are up and working properly for faster response time for takeoff. They are in the process of working on the new meeting room. Fire Chief Frankie Ullman also stated that there will be a Barbeque April 30th 2023. He is working on getting the flyers out soon.
D. Street Department – Alderman Ron Barnett was absent. Mayor Carlton Wyatt stated that our Part time helper Dennis Bean has been picking up brush. He hasn’t worked much because of the rain. Dennis has been trying to clean up round the fencing of the water tower and down at the sewer plant. They fixed the salt spreader. It would work at time then just quit working. All the equipment is up and running again. Whatever diesel vehicles we have has started since we have had the snow and ice.
E. Water / Wastewater Department – Alderman Karl Schultz gave the floor to Frankie Ullman who reported that the Water test has been coming back good. A few meters have gone down but are being fixed. He also stated that meter reads have been a little high. Frankie Ullman also stated that we need to look into getting some sludge hauled from the sewer plant. Alderman Zenon Duda asked if our waterlines are on a GPS system. Frankie stated that the water lines are marked through GPS.
F. Park / Cemetery / Animal Control –Alderman Zenon Duda had nothing to report. Mayor Carlton Wyatt states that we owe someone a big Thank You for cleaning up the tree limbs that were in the cemetery after the snow and ice we had. He also stated that the Cemetery looks good. He also stated that we have a “cat” problem round town. So, we are going to have to do something about them. Alderman Zenon Duda stated that he can start setting traps to catch the cats and then take them to a no kill shelter.
G. Citizens Participation – There was no one there to speak.
10. Regular Session Adjournment: There being no further business before the board, a motion was made by Alderman Annette Hacker to adjourn at 6:15 p.m. Alderman Karl Schultz seconded the motion. All the aldermen voted yea on a voice vote. Meeting adjourned.
