Sports wagering bill scheduled for committee hearing

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Legislation to legalize sports wagering in Missouri will be heard in the Missouri House Committee on Emerging Issues on February 8th at 5 p.m. in House Hearing Room 6.  If passed, the bill would allow Missouri to join the over thirty states that have legalized betting on sports

“Missourians should be free to engage in sports wagering,” said Rep. Phil Christofanelli (R – St. Peters). “With legal sports wagering in nearly every state bordering our own, it is common sense for us to pass this bill and provide a legal and regulated framework that will generate revenue for our state’s priorities.”

After the hearing, the bill will be eligible for a committee vote and referral to a Rules Committee for further vetting.
