Ste Genevieve hires new Tourism Marketing Director

STE GENEVIEVE — With input from the Tourism Advisory Council and the Tourism Tax Commission, the months long search to hire a Tourism Marketing Director is completed, city officials announced on social media Friday afternoon.

Tanalyn Dollar who lives in Hillsboro, Mo. will work in Ste. Genevieve remotely at least some of the time after the city revised its remote working policy at Thursday’s meetiong. She will use her education and expertise to help promote and market all that Ste. Genevieve has to offer.

 

Tanalyn has been in marketing over 15 years, has a Masters Degree from Webster University, has contracted with some major corporations like Graybar Electric and Enterprise Holding Company and was an adjunct marketing instructor at Jefferson College.

 

Ms. Dollar will begin Tuesday, January 17 at City Hall.

 

A committee of the Tourism Advisory Council and the Tourism Tax Commission updated the job description and determined that the skills desired for this position would be to focus on marketing the city: Through social media, print, email, and more. The committee then assisted with interviews with the most qualified candidate selected to be interviewed by the TAC and TTC.

 

Ms. Dollar was the consensus choice by the citizen representatives and they are excited to have her start using her experience to market Ste. Genevieve.
