Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen meeting held

STE. GENEVIEVE — The Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen approved every measure on the agenda last night by identical 7-0-1 votes.

 

Alderman Joe Prince did not attend the meeting.

 

The consent agenda included the following items:

 

Resolution 2023-12 declaring the K-9 Mario to be surplus property.

 

Resolution 2023-13 authorizing the purchase of three Kawasaki mowers from Flieg’s Equipment for no more than $45,249.

 

The aldermen also approved a bid from Shallow Creek Kennels for the purchase of a new K-9 14,000.

 

The following measures were given first round approval:

 

Bill No. 4525 for Cochran Engineering on the St. Marys Road sidewalk/trail improvement project.

 

Bill No. 4529 repealing section 135.175

 

Bill No. 4530 adopting section 700.010 disclosure of billing records.

 

The following measures were given first and second round approval:

 

Bill No. 4526 for Cochran Engineering  on water main improvements.

 

Bill No. 4527 for an agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for public improvements along Routes 61 and 32.

 

Bill No. 4528 to establish a three percent sales tax on purchases of marijuana, subject to voter approval April 4th.

 

Bill No. 4531 approving a special use permit for Vio Properties LLC to operate guest lodging at 320 Washington Street.

 

Bill No. 4532 a levee education and recreation subdivision that divides a section of North Ste. Genevieve Joint Levee Commission property.

 

Bill No. 4533 amending the personnel manual.

 

During a work session following the regular meeting, the aldermen gave informal approval to a proposal from American Legion Post No. 150 to place a monument with a piece of military hardware – perhaps a Huey helicopter, on their property at Fourth and Rozier.

 

The aldermen heard from a representative of McLiney and Associates on the city seeking a $10-$12 million bond issue to pay for street improvements.

 

The board then went into a closed work session to discuss the Progress Parkway Property.
