JEFFERSON CITY — A 19-year-old Ste. Genevieve man escape injury in a four-vehicle traffic crash on Highway 30 in St. Louis County Tuesday evening.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Jacob A. Griffith was the driver of a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado which received minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
The patrol says the crash happened when the driver of a 2021 Toyota Rav4 failed to observe traffic stopped at a traffic signal and the front of her car struck the rear of a 2016 Ford Escape. The Escape then struck the rear of a trailer being towed by a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado causing minor damage. The Toyota then rolled backwards and struck the front of Griffith’s pick up.
The driver of the Toyota, 57-year-old Tracy Chaves of Dittmer suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. The patrol says Chaves was unrestrained. The other drivers, who were all buckled up, were not hurt.
The patrol says the four vehicles were all westbound on 30 east of Northwest Boulevard when the crash happened about 5:53 p.m.
In addition to Griffith’s pick up, the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was able to be driven from the scene after receiving minor damage.
The Ford Escape had extensive damage and was left at the scene. The Toyota also had extensive damage and was towed away.
