CHESTER — The Chester Rotary Club met Wednesday, December 28.
President Tanya Cowan conducted the meeting and introduced special guests of the club.
Longtime member Ralph Kipp was in attendance, along with his entire family, including sons Dale and Lyle, their wives and children.
Also present were Marc Kiehna, Assistant Governor of Rotary District 6510 and retiring A.G. Joe Tanner.
Chester Rotarian Carolyn Schwent gave a brief program on Rotary and its founder, Paul Harris.
The organization was founded in 1905.
As a service organization, Rotary International is present in countries all over the world and proudly has been instrumental in nearly obliterating polio throughout the world.
During the meeting Lyle Kipp, on behalf of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, presented a Paul Harris Fellowship to local Rotarian Gwendy Garner, “in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world”.
The recognition for Garner was made possible by Ralph Kipp, who contributed points for Garner’s recognition.
During the meeting, during introduction of the Kipp family, the club learned that all members of Ralph Kipp’s family have the honor and status of being Paul Harris Fellows.
