Joseph R. Sikes 74 years old of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Mo.
He was born February 10, 1948 in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. He arried Donna (Stoll) Sikes on May 22, 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Sikes in Ste. Genevieve; two sons: Daniel J. (Jennifer) Sikes of St. Charles, Mo. and Steven J. (Michelle) Sikes of Festus, Mo.; brother: Robert “Booger” Sikes of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; grandchildren: Hannah and Evan Sikes and Alyssa Eynon
He was preceded in death by his father: John E. Sikes; his mother: Elveria (Schmidt) Sikes; two sisters: Arlene Williams and Margaret Martin.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo. on Friday, January 6, 2023.
A funeral will be Friday, Jauuary 6, 2023 at Basler Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 1 p.m. The Rev. Mitchell Baer will officiate.
Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. with military honors.
Memorials may be made to family use.
He was a member of Amercian Legion Post 150.
Joe worked for Biltbest Corporation, Mississippi Lime, drove the bus for the Sheltered Workshop and was an EMT for the Ste. Genevieve Ambulance District.
Joe Served in the United States Navy from 1966-1970.
He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and he played Santa Claus for 27 years.
