Thelma A Schmidt, 96, of Perryville, Missouri died Monday, December 26, 2022 at Independence Care Center.
She was born October 26, 1926 in Crosstown, MO to William and Hedwig (Buettner) Muench.
She and Walter Schmidt were married November 6, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Crosstown, MO.
She was a Home Maker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran in Altenburg, MO, Lutheran Braille for the blind in Crosstown, MO and she was an election official in Altenburg.
Survivors include four sons, James (Faye) Schmidt of Altenburg, MO; Charles Schmidt of Perryville, MO; Mark Schmidt of Norfolk, VA; Roy (Nancy) Schmidt of Perryville, MO and one daughter, Wanda (Johnny) Carlson of Jackson, MO, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Walter Schmidt; son, Paul Schmidt; four brothers, Alfred Muench, Arthur Muench, Walter Muench, Elmer Muench; two sisters, Meta Brueckner, Flora Schulter.
Visitation will be held 8:30am to 10:00am on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating.
Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Altenburg.
Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
