Snow, ice, frigid temps, but my daughter still ventures out

By Don Pritchard

STE. GENEVIEVE – My daughter, Charity, ventured out on an errand of mercy to get some food for her son, Dylan and his wife, Savannah, earlier this Thursday afternoon.

While on the errand she took these photos at American Custard and from Rhodes drive up.

Later she braved Maxwell Hill to retrieve her father from the radio station.

What a brave, loving mother and daughter.

By the way, as I type this waiting for Charity to pull into the KSGM parking lot on Radio Hill, the temperature displayed on SteGenTV’s Channel 990 is -0 degrees. I guess the minus sign is for emphasis.

Yes, Mother Nature was right on time with the wintry blast of inconvenience with the winter solstice less than a day before she moved her soldiers of ice into our neighborhood.

Which reminds of a Moody Blues lyric from my youth, “Brave Helios wake up your steeds. Bring the warmth the countryside needs.” (“The Day Begins” from the album: “Days of Future Passed”
