Marvin Elmer Mecker, 83, of Perryville, Missouri died Thursday, December 22, 2022 at his home.
He was born May 18, 1939 in Perryville, MO to Elmer and Helen (Buchheit) Mecker.
Marvin and Eleanor E. Mattingly were married May 12, 1962 in Brewer, MO. She survives him.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianna (Brian) Koenig of Perryville, MO, Darla (Timothy) Cobb of Lebanon, IL; five grandsons, Tyson Koenig of Cape Girardeau, MO, Jarod (Jennifer) Koenig of Ozark, MO, Ryan Koenig of Perryville, MO, Nicholas Cobb, and Alex (fiancee Kenlea Meeker) Cobb, both of Lebanon, IL; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Koenig, Rebekah Koenig, and Elijah Koenig; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Winterberg of Perryville, MO, Glenda (Lou) Eng of Denver, CO, Shirley Mattingly of St. Mary, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Delano Mattingly; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Joseph) Blessing and Virginia Fingers.
Marvin was a lifelong farmer. He loved to go fishing and tell jokes.
He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and served six years in the National Guard.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2022 and will continue Friday, December 30, 2022 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Friday, December 30, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville with Fr. Gerald Blessing officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Church or a charitable cause of your choice.
