SPARTA — Buchheit’s annual No One Fights Alone (NOFA) campaign runs the month of October each year.
In the photo: Buchheit, Inc. raised $14,532 during their 8th annual October No One Fights Alone campaign for local cancer patients this year. Buchheit of Sparta Store Manager, Jeremy White (left), and Inventory Control Manager and Event Coordinator, FaithAriel Hagen (right), presented a check to, Jamie Tepe (center), a representative from the Cancer Care Specialitsts of Illinois Charitable Funds.
The Buchheit family has witnessed many of its members “fight the beast”, a phrase used by Buchheit, Inc. CEO, Tim Buchheit. The Buchheit family began the campaign in October 2015 by calling attention to breast cancer and decorating their retail stores in pink. Each year a different cancer is highlighted as their way of combating the disease, as the disease in one way or another, had touched several members of the family. In 2022, Buchheit focused their attention on raising awareness for Kidney Cancer, the 6th most common cancer in the United States. The Buchheit family has been directly affected by this cancer with Ella, Kenny Buchheit’s granddaughter, being diagnosed in 2019.
In support of friends, family, and fighters, Buchheit will donate a total of $14,532 to local organizations which provide services to cancer patients. It is important to the Buchheit family that they give back to the communities which have and continue to support them. All proceeds collected at Buchheit of Sparta have been donated to the Cancer Care Specialitsts of Illinois Charitable Funds. The Cancer Care Specialists will be using the donation money to make gas cards and personalized donations, like homemade blankets to those going through chemotherapy.
