A funeral will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 for 93-year-old Verdelle Meyer of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 8:05 pm, Monday, December 12, 2022 at Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pinckneyville, Illinois.
She was born to the late Andy and Selma (nee Welge) Bert, Sr. on March 27, 1929 in Chester, Illinois.
Verdelle married Walter Meyer on June 28, 1952 in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on September 24, 2001.
She had worked in housekeeping for Sparta Community Hospital.
Verdelle was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta, Illinois.
She is survived by a son: Ron (Sue) Meyer of Chester, IL; a sister: Rudelle Gross of Pinckneyville, IL;
two grandchildren: Jared Meyer and Alana Meyer; two nieces: Brenda Rapp and Sharon Ohlau; two nephews: Larry Bert and Gary Bert.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Andy “Junior” and Jerry Bert.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois
A funeral for 93-year-old Verdelle Meyer of Chester, Illinois will be held at 11 a.m. December 16, 2022
at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois. Father Sebastian Ukoh will officiate.
Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
