A funeral will be held Thursday, December 15, 20221 for 92-year-old Armin J. Depper of Evansville, Illinois, who passed away at 10:05 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2022 at his residence.
He was born January 11, 1930 in Belleville, Illinois, son of the late Walter and Eleanor (nee Wiegand).
Armin married Lola Heine on November 26, 1988 at St. Leo Catholic Church in Modoc, Illinois; she survives in Evansville.
Survivors: six children: Sherry (Ted) Pajda of St. Louis, Mo., Anita (Scott) Geaschel of Collinsville, Ill., John Depper of Granite City, Ill.; Laurie Umbdenstock of Modoc, Ill., Shelly (Dave) Lochhead of Chester, Ill., and Mike (Michelle) Umbdenstock of Evansville, Ill.; one sister: Joanne Bearrentine Dothan, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Denise Heberlie and a brother: Don Depper.
He worked on the assembly line at General Motors and then worked at Nollau Landscaping in Belleville until his retirement.
Armin enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing, hunting and working in his garden. He enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards, especially Uno and Canasta, and watching westerns.
In his early years he helped coach soccer.
He really enjoyed sharing his love of fishing by hosting fish fries, especially hosting the Marigold Fish Fry and family fish fries.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ruma, Illinois.
Visitation will be 9 – 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ruma, Illinois.
A funeral mass for 92-year-old Armin J. Depper of Evansville, Illinois will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ruma, Illinois with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery in Modoc, Illinois.
