Woman hurt when pick up strikes deer on I-55

JEFFERSON CITY — A 55-year-old Sturdivant, Mo. woman suffered moderate injuries Friday afternoon when the pick up she was driving struck a deer on I-55 at the 125 mile marker.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Cynthia D. Freeman was taken to Perry County Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Freeman was buckled up.

The patrol says the crash happened about 4:45 p.m. at the 125 mile marker.

The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 received extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
