Tucker, Lawrence ‘Larry’ P.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022 for 72-year-old Lawrence “Larry” P. Tucker of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

 

He was born May 6, 1950 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. a son of Leroy and Hazel Marie (Moonier) Tucker who both preceded him in death.

 

On June 21, 2018 he was united in marriage to Sharon Siebert. She survives him in Perryville, Mo.

 

Survivors include Melva Seyer, the mother of his three children: Lawrence W. “Herbie” Tucker of  Perryville, Eric L. and Jami Tucker of Perryville, and Rebecca C. Tucker Coots of Cape Girardeau. Grandchildren: Luke Rigsby, Marissa Rigsby-Tucker and fiancée Kyle Kemner of Perryville and Tucker Coots, Memphis Coots, and Zhora Coots of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; a brother: Steve Tucker of Ste Genevieve and a sister: Sandra (Mark) Weinkein of Perryville.

 

He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Joseph Tucker, William Tucker, Leroy “Jerry” Tucker, and Thomas Tucker and sisters: Agnes Tucker, Rose Brown, and Nancy Amberger.

 

He served in the U.S. Navy.

 

He was a retired correctional sergeant at the Menard Chester Correctional Center.

 

His presence will be missed by all that knew him. He was a kind, generous, highly intelligent, and strongly committed man. His influence and insights live on in the people that knew him.

 

He was an avid Karaoke singer and loved time with friends and family at Larry’s Bar and Grill Karaoke.

 

He was a 30 year member of the Masonic Lodge No. 72 Chester, member of the American Legion Post No. 133, Scottish Rite of Southern, IL, Belleville, and the Shriners AINAD, East St. Louis, IL.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 and 8-11 a.m. Tuesday November 29, 2022 at the Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

 

A funeral for 72-year-old Lawrence “Larry” P. Tucker of Perryville will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022 at the Ford & Young Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Crown Hospice.
