Governor will appoint Randy Ruzicka’s successor as second district commissioner

STE. GENEVIEVE — Randy Ruzicka’s election to the office of Ste. Genevieve County Presiding Commissioner opens up an opportunity for someone to fill the Second District Commissioner seat Ruzicka will be vacating December 31, 2022.

 

County Clerk Sue Wolk said the final decision is up to the governor, who makes the appointment, but anyone interested in the position is welcome to begin the process of making themselves available.

 

Wolk said the place to start is the state’s website – http://boards.mo.gov

 

There they can create an account and complete an application.

 

After folks create an account, they will be able to select “Ste. Genevieve County Second District Commissioner” on their application.

 

The governor’s office said after a background check is made, a decision as to who will be appointed should come in December, so that he or she can take office when Ruzicka is sworn in as presiding commissioner.

 

Wolk said the appointed commissioner will serve two years, with the term expiring December 31, 2024 which is when Ruzicka’s term as second district commissioner would have expired.
