Perry County Health System and Perryville Primary Center partner to enhance academic outcomes

PERRYVILLE – Perry County Health System’s Occupational Therapy staff along with the staff at Perryville Primary Center are working in collaboration to enhance academic outcomes for children who attend kindergarten through second grade.

This collaborative partnership has allowed for the sharing of knowledge between the two organizations; resulting in the development of a program that is delivered directly through classroom strategies on a global level.

In addition, a champion classroom has been selected for more individualized program implementation for which outcome data is being collected.

This collaborative program focuses on decreasing stress, improving self-confidence, improving attention/concentration, improving motor skills, and providing repetition of information for enhancing academic outcomes for our children.

The goal of this collaborative partnership is for each child to achieve their highest level of academic potential.
