Missouri Chamber offers free apprenticeship web portal

JEFFERSON CITY – There is an increasing amount of apprenticeship opportunities in Missouri, and the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry has a free way to access those opportunities.

Missouri Apprentice Connect helps promote the apprenticeship model in Missouri and builds a bridge between employers and potential apprentices.

This service was established by the Missouri Chamber in 2020 with extensive collaboration and support from the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development. It is modeled after the successful Missouri Intern Connect platform.

Currently, there are 162 organizations using this service with 449 positions and 475 apprentice seekers.

“With historic workforce shortages impacting our economy, apprenticeships are a valuable way to fill jobs and effectively and quickly train workers,” said Missouri Chamber President and CEO Daniel P. Mehan. “Missouri Apprentice Connect is a great way to connect apprentices with available opportunities. We are proud to provide this service.”

Missouri Apprentice Connect is a product of the Missouri Chamber’s Missouri 2030 strategic initiative. The research behind Missouri 2030 uncovered that workforce was one of the main concerns for our state’s employers — many organizations were struggling to find the talented workers they needed. In addition, the state overall was experiencing a troubling trend: Many young workers were choosing to leave Missouri for opportunities elsewhere.

Missouri Apprentice Connect addresses these issues by providing an easy way for Missourians to connect with valuable earn-and-learn career opportunities.
