Glen Allen Brinkman

Glen Allen Brinkman formerly of Perryville and Cape Girardeau, Mo., 88, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at Lower Cape Fear Life Center in Wilmington, N.C. He was 88.

 

Glen and his wife Joan moved to Leland, N.C. in February of 2022 where he resided until his passing.

 

He was born on August 29, 1934 in Perryville, Mo. a son of Paul George Brinkman and Bessy Amelia Brinkman (Deevers) who both preceded him in death.

 

Glen married his high school sweetheart: Mary Joan Doernhoefer. She survives. They celebrated 69 years of marriage in July of 2022. Glen and Joan were members of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

 

Also surviving are his daughter: Debra Ruth and her husband: Lee of Oak Island, N.C., his grandson David Lee Maxwell and his wife Claire of Charlotte, N. C., and his granddaughter Cara Joan Maxwell of Charlotte, N.C.

 

In addition to his parents, Glen is predeceased by his son Jim Brinkman, his brothers Ivan, Lloyd and Jack.


Glen graduated from Perryville High School and received a BS in Engineering from University of Missouri, Rolla. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.


Glen was a sales engineer with Armco Steel, Contech and Rose Concrete.

 

He loved to play golf, fish, camp and spoil his two grandchildren.

 

Glen’s family and friends will miss his sense of humor and gift of gab.
