STE. GENEVIEVE – Josef Edward Flieg is the Valle Rotary Student of the Month for November.
Josef is the son of Scott and Julie Flieg of Bloomsdale.
His academic achievements include Academic all-state for three years, honors student for four years. He received the Love of Learning award for two years, and received the Forever a Warrior Scholarship in 2021, the 98+ Award in Theology in 2021, and the top five GPA aware in 2021. This past year he received the Neatness Counts Award, the Honest Effort Award, and received the Helping Hand Award.
Josef has been a member of National Honor Society for two years. He was class secretary for two years and is a member of the loud crowd.
Josef has been a member of the Varsity Cross Country team for four years. He has been a member of the Varsity Track and Field team for three years. His athletic achievements include:

Josef has served his community by volunteering his time with Operation Overhaul, landscaping for local businesses, and volunteering at numerous school events. He has maintained a job at the Main Street Inn for four years. His duties include working as part of housekeeping staff and tour guide of the building.
Josef plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Marine Biology. After graduating college he hopes to work on professional research on aquatic life in the ocean.
