STE. GENEVIEVE — Just over half of Ste. Genevieve County voters cast ballots in Tuesday’s general elections.
They gave their support to Republicans running for office: Eric Schmitt for U.S. Senate, Scott Fitzpatrick for state auditor, Jason Smith for Eighth District Congress.
Many of the local candidates were unopposed.
In contested races:
Randy Ruzicka defeated David Bova for Presiding County Commissioner, Mary Jane Fallert White defeated Annette Roth for Recorder of Deeds, Kim Basinger defeated Susan Mueller for County Collector,
Ste. Genevieve County voters said no to Amendment 1, no to Amendment 3, yes to Amendment 4, and yes to Amendment 5.
They rejected a call for a constitutional convention by more than a two to one margin.
