ST. LOUIS, Mo. –Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri (GSEM) partnered with Ryval Studios and Guerilla Film, winning a Mid-America Emmy Award in the short-form branded content category for the GSEM video “Her Future, Our Future”.
The video was in support of the Girl Scout mission and the promotion of GSEM’s Her Future is Our Future $50 million-dollar Comprehensive Campaign.
GSEM worked closely with Jon Morgan, Founder of Ryval Studios, and Guerilla Film to craft a heartwarming story of a Girl Scout’s journey, as she grows, develops her leadership skills and learns from others. The video showcases the power of the Girl Scout mission, to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
“Winning a regional Emmy Award is incredibly humbling,” says Morgan. “When I started Ryval in 2015 out of my two-bedroom apartment, I had no idea where the business would go. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would be accepting an Emmy Award seven years later for a video we produced. But this just goes to show that with God, anything is possible.”
To capture this heartwarming feeling and emotion, Jon Morgan turned to Guerrilla Film who is comprised of the owner, Tennyson Tanner, who serves as Director and DP, and Jonah Atkins as Director and Producer. Combined they have over three decades of experience telling heartwarming stories through film.
“When we got the call for Girl Scouts from Ryval Studios, we felt like it would be a great project to express our creativity and tell a touching story of a mother seeing her daughter transform into an accomplished young woman.” says Tanner. “It was an honor to represent our region and come home with a win.”
In addition to sharing the Girl Scout story, the video promotes the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s Her Future is Our Future $50 million-dollar Comprehensive Campaign, which remains open until December 31, 2022. The campaign directly supports capital improvements at three camp properties, continuation, and expansion of current programming as well as innovative new programming; scholarship assistance so that every girl has access to the Girl Scout leadership experience; and a significant investment in the GSEM endowment ensuring that Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri will be serving girls for generations to come.
“We are extremely proud of the video and the message it conveys, said Kelly Daleen, Chief Membership and Marketing Officer, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri. “We are so grateful to Ryval Studios, Guerrilla Film and the many Girl Scout girls, volunteers and staff who support this very important initiative for our organization. This project was a labor of love and will live long into the future, telling the incredible story of what it means to be a Girl Scout and the power of the Girl Scout movement.”
Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri is incredibly proud of the Mid-America Emmy award and the awareness it brings to the work GSEM does to develop and deliver relevant programs that help girls build the skills they will use to lead in their homes, our workplaces, and our communities.
