Dorothy May Bert

A funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 7, 2022 for 80-year-old Dorothy May Bert of Cartersville, Georgia, who passed away at 6:30 pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at her residence.

 

She was born to the late August and Lyra (nee Powers) Brueggemann on August 12, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri.

 

Dorothy married Raymond Eugene Bert on September 14, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri; he preceded her in death on October 2, 2007.

 

She then married Robert Bergeron in 2018. He survives in Carterville, Georgia.

 

She is also survived by six children: Denise (Chris) Norton of Kansas City, Kans., Danette Yarger of Acworth, Georgia; Dominic (Remonda) Bert of Carthage, Tenn.; Donna (Joe) Rayman of Baltimore, Georgia; Douglas (Jodee) Bert of Laurinburg, N.C. and Diana (Trey) Weeks of Savannah, Georgia;

two brothers: Joseph Brueggemann (Pat Jett) of  St. Louis, Mo. and Robert (Gloria) Brueggemann of Washington, Mo; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by: her parents and husband – Raymond Eugene Bert.

 

Dorothy was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Cartersville, Georgia. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as playing cards and shopping. She was also always ready for an adventure and loved traveling. She spent a lot of time volunteering and helping others in the community.

 

Visitation:will be Monday: 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, in Chester, Illinois.

 

A funeral for 80-year-old Dorothy May Bert of Cartersville, Georgia, will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, November 7, 2022 at the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, in Chester, Illinois. Father Sebastian Ukoh will officiate.

 

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Chester, Illinois Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
