STE. GENEVIEVE — Fifth grade students at Ste. Genevieve Elementary School recently visited four different local businesses as part of annual Career Day, sponsored by the Parent Teacher Organization.
The fifth grade students at Ste. Genevieve Elementary had a great day exploring the community. In each businesse, students toured the facility and learned about those career paths, including those which involved college readiness, and those which involved various training.
Each business offered a variety of hands-on learning activities for the students! From trying on sets of scrubs and medical masks and viewing a set of lungs, to donning hard hats before learning about kilns and heaving quarry machinery, students were able to experience what it would be like as a professional in each of these careers.
Counselor Mrs. Greminger and the fifth grade faculty and students would like to thank the following local businesses and professionals who hosted Career Day: American Custard, Lhoist, Save A Lot, and Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.
The faculty and students would also like to thank the teachers and bus drivers who kept the students safe throughout the day! The Parent Teacher Organization sponsored the buses to transport students to and from each location. Thanks to careful planning and collaboration among staff and community members, our students experienced fun, informational explorations into possible careers!
