Bloomsdale Elementary holds annual Career Day

BLOOMSDALE — Recently, fifth grade students at Bloomsdale Elementary School visited local businesses as part of their annual Career Day.

 

Students met with professionals from industrial and engineering technology, health services, business management and marketing, veterinarian, human services, and banking.

They learned about making goat cheese, asked questions about being an entrepreneur, learned about the various tools and equipment used by fire departments, EMTs, and law enforcement, and much more.

 

Mrs. Rowland and the fifth grade faculty and students would like to thank the following local businesses and professionals who took the time to help plan the event: Regan Wengert, owner/Pre-K teacher at Wee World; Dawn Sevier with the Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District; Luke Fallert with the Bloomsdale Fire Department; Jaime Noble and Katie Schilly, owners at Elysian Design Company; Bridgette Baer, with Mid America Rehab; Cara Naeger, owner of the Dew Drop Inn, Kozy Kitchen and Baetje Farms; Cathy Hutcheson with Bloomsdale Medical Center; Lisa Schwent  with Holcim; Chelsea McElmurry with Anheuser Animal Clinic; Josie Roth with Bloomsdale Bank; and Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Finch.

In all, 11 different careers were represented from a variety of career paths.
