A graveside service will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 for 90-year-old Warren J. Koehler of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, formerly of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 6:38 pm, Friday, October 21, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
He was born to the late Charles and Beulah Leona (nee Richards) Koehler on October 4, 1932 in Caseyville, Illinois.
He married Darla J. Rees on September 3, 1954 in Chester, Illinois; she preceded him in death on November 3, 2016.
Survivors: three children: Colleen (Richard) Hale Marble Hill, Mo., Laurie (Ken) Leffert Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Jeff (Brenda) Koehler Pocahontas, Ill., a sister: Janice Hoening Belleville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother: Harry Koehler
Warren had worked at Chester Mental Health, Chester, Illinois for almost 15 years.
Warren enjoyed watching westerns, especially John Wayne movies. He loved spending time with family and friends. Warren spent many hours looking at the river. He loved all animals.
He was a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
He was a Korean War Army Veteran.
A graveside service for 90-year-old Warren J. Koehler of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, formerly of Chester, Illinois will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, Illinois. Minister Roy LeBlanc will officiate.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
