New COVID cases fall 7.6 percent in Missouri

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports 3,978 new cases of COVID 19 for the week ending October 14th. 

 

That is down 328 from the previous week’s total of 4,306 new cases, down 7.6 percent.

 

There were 12 new cases of COVID-19 in Ste. Genevieve County compared to 26 the previous week. That is 67 cases per 100,000 population.

 

There were 23 new cases in Perry County compared to 23 the previous week. That is 120 per 100,000 population.

 

Bollinger County had 12 new cases, compared to fewer than 23 the previous week. That is 99 per 100,000 population.

 

St. Francois County had 75 new cases compared to 74 the previous week. That’s 113 per 100,000 population.

 

Cape Girardeau had 53 new cases compared to 70 the previous week. That’s 67 per 100,000 population.

 

Jefferson County had 193 new cases compared with 168 new cases the previous week. That’s 85 per 100,000 population.

Locally Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois, Bollinger and Jefferson Counties were in the medium community level. In counties at the Medium Community Level, persons who are elderly or immuno-compromised (at risk of severe outcomes) are advised to wear a mask in indoor public places. They should also get up to date on COVID-19 vaccines or get their bivalent booster, if eligible.

 

Perry and Cape Girardeau Counties were in the low community level.
