Chester Yellow Jacket Golf places 2nd at 2022 Cahokia Conference Match

Chester’s Chance Mott earns All-Conference honors

CHESTER –The Chester High School Yellow Jacket Golf Team traveled to Governor’s Run Golf Course in Carlyle, Illinois to compete in the 2022 Cahokia Conference Tournament Wednesday September 21.
The Jackets joined fellow Cahokia Conference teams Okawville, Carlyle, Wesclin, Sparta, and Red Bud to determine who would be the 2022 Cahokia Conference Champion.
For the second year in-a-row the Yellow Jackets finished in 2nd Place as runner-up of the Cahokia Conference.
Okawville was the winner with 341 points. The Rockets are back-to-back Champions of the Cahokia Conference. Chester Yellow Jackets finished just 17 strokes behind the winner with 358 points.
Other finishers included Sparta Bulldogs (3rd, 365); Wesclin Warriors (4th, 367); Red Bud Musketeers (5th, 387); and Carlyle Indians (6th, 407).

Chester was led by senior Chance Mott who shot 84 for the 18-hole match. His score earned him All-Cahokia Conference honors. Senior Gage Hasemeyer recorded a score of 90 strokes for the day. Aidan Blechle, a senior, shot 93. Lucas Thompson, a junior, had a match of 95 strokes. Finally, sophomore Noah Homan recorded a match of 106 strokes.
Head CHS Golf Coach, Chris Toledo said, “The boys played in the conference tournament today finishing 2nd for the second straight year with a team score of 358. Chance Mott finished T-3 with a round of 84, just two shots behind the winner, Dillion Teter of Okawville.”
“The boys will travel to North County Country Club in Red Bud today for a match with Red Bud and Christ Our Savior Lutheran Hifgh School.”
