William “Abe” Gegg 72 years old of Saint Mary, Mo. passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022
At Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
He was born October 26, 1949 in Ste. Genevieve.
He married Mary (Newhouse) Gegg on January 20, 1973.
He is survived by: his wife, Mary Gegg of Saint Mary; two sons: Jeffrey (Nanya) Gegg of Saint Mary, and Clayton Gegg of Sainte Genevieve; two daughters: Dana (Brian) Bowen of Saint Mary, and Deidre (Scott) Werner of Saint Mary; four sisters: Linda (Robert) Snow of Lakeland, Fla., Patricia Labruyere of Sainte Genevieve, Mary Lipp of Sainte Genevieve, Betty (Wayne) Naeger of Bloomsdale; four brothers: Melvin (Marlene) Gegg of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Wayne (Pat) Gegg of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Jim (Leisa) Gegg of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., and Norman (Tina) Gegg of Sainte Geneveieve; grandchildren: Logan Gegg, Tanisha Gegg, Kennedy Bowen, Autumn and Trenton Werner; and Gavin Gegg.
He was preceded in death by: his father: Henry S. Gegg; his mother: Mary Mabel (Roth) Gegg; two brothers: Robert Gegg and Stanley Gegg; daughter-in-law Kelsey Gegg; and his granddaughter: Alexis Gegg.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 24 and 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve.
A funeral for 72-year-old William “Abe” Gegg will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ozora. The Clergy will be Rev. Mitchell Baer and Rev. James Schaefer.
Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Ozora with graveside military services by VFW Post 2210.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice
He served in the United States Marine Corps.
Bill was a member of Little Saline Sportsman Club, Ste. Genevieve Knights of Columbus Council 1037, the Lost Acres Tractor Club and Sacred Heart Church, Ozora.
