Missouri Republican Party congratulates Republican nominee for U.S. Senator, AG Eric Schmitt

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Republican Party extends its congratulations to Missouri’s Attorney General, Eric Schmitt, for winning the primary election and becoming the Republican nominee to be Missouri’s next U.S. Senator.

Attorney General Schmitt has served Missouri as a public official in several capacities including as a state senator, treasurer, and currently as attorney general. Schmitt beat out 20 other Republican candidates who were all seeking the party nomination. The Missouri U.S. Senate seat became available when current Senator, Roy Blunt, announced his retirement in early 2021 after serving as senator for over a decade.

“Eric Schmitt will make Missouri proud as our U.S. Senator,” said Missouri Republican Party Chairman, Nick Myers. “In all of his public service roles, Eric has fought for Conservative values, and most recently as Missouri’s Attorney General he has fought for individual freedom at the state level, he has fought for the life of the unborn, and he has stood up to the Biden administration. We are looking forward to a Republican U.S. Senate victory in November.”
