Wagner legislation to strengthen credit rating company oversight passes House

WASHINGTON, D.C.  –  Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO), Vice Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee, released the following statement after her Risk-Based Credit Examination Act passed the United States House of Representatives:

“The Risk-Based Credit Examination Act will help consumers at an incredibly volatile economic time and will reduce the costly burdens placed on smaller credit rating agencies by Dodd-Frank.   I am proud to report my legislation passed the House today, and now we look to the Senate to take immediate action so a more competitive marketplace can flourish under a more efficient and effective set of financial regulations.”
