Ste. Genevieve Parish conducts summer ‘Totus Tuus’ youth program

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve Parish recently held it summer youth program called Totus Tuus. This Latin word translated to English means “Totally Yours,” and it was the motto of Pope St. John Paul II. Taken from St. Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion to Mary, it signifies our desire to give ourselves entirely to Jesus Christ through Mary.

During the day, six energetic college missionaries employed creative and fun methods to teach children in grades 1 – 6 how to pray, the importance of the sacraments, and how to participate in Mass. In the evenings, they led teens in grades 7-12 with inspiring talks, confession and prayer, and lots of food and fun.

The Totus Tuus program was successful through the work of many parish volunteers including parish coordinator, Renee Ellis, families who housed the missionaries for the week, families who hosted dinners and provided lunches and snacks, high school students, adult volunteers, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, our priests, our deacon, and our seminarian.
