STE. GENEVIEVE — The Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen met Thursday evening in regular session in the city hall board room.
The first item on the agenda for the meeting after the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call, was a presentation by Mayor Paul Hassler of a proclamation honoring Radio Station KSGM on its 75th Anniversary.
The station was founded in July 1947 by brothers Norbert and Elmer Donze on the second floor of building at 245 Merchant Street which now houses the Brix Urban Winery.
The present owner of Donze Communications, Anne Donze, accepted the proclamation from Mayor Hassler.
Several members of the KSGM crew were in the audience and gathered for a group photo afterwards.

In other business at last night’s board of aldermen meeting:
Reports were heard from the city administrator, Happy Welch, Fire Chief Kenny Steiger and Community Development Administrator David Bova.
A public hearing was held on a request to open a guest lodge at 286 South Gabouri Street.
Resolution No. 2022-61 was approved as part of the consent agenda. It allows the mayor to execute a property maintenance agreement with Mark E. Trautwein to maintain flood buyout property.
The second reading of a measure adopting new ward boundaries in the city, in order to comply with the 2020 census was approved 8-0.
A bid of $8,640 from Core and Main of St. Louis for water line fittings, etc. was accepted 8-0.
A measure approving a guest lodge at 286 South Gabouri Street was approved 8-0.
A work session followed the regular session.
