Richard H. Bohnert, 86, of Perryville died Friday, July 8, 2022. He was born on July 21, 1935 to Herman and Rose (Berkbigler) Bohnert.
He and Dolores (Gebhardt) Bohnert were married June 23, 1956. They were married for 66 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Clarence and grandson Justin.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores and six children, eighteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren: Rhonda (Joe) Guilliams of Perryville, Randy (Rose) Bohnert of Festus, Rick (Debbie) Bohnert of Perryville, Rusty (Sabrina) Bohnert of Syracuse, Robyn (Jeff) Heib of St. Louis and Ryan (Samantha) Bohnert of Pevely; one brother Donald Bohnert; one sister Betty Jean Kirkover.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul church, Perryville, MO. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at Mississippi Lime in Ste. Genevieve, MO and he served in the National Guard Infantry.
He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and reading. He loved riding in his side-by-side on the farm that has been in his family for generations. He and Dolores spent their Saturday evenings dancing. He loved his family and enjoyed the simple things life had to offer.
Visitation will be from 7:30 am to 9:30am on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am July, 13,2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville with Rev. Joe Geders Officiating.
Entombment in Mary Queen of Heaven Mausoleum at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Richard’s name to St. Vincent de Paul church, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or 40 days for Life.
