Salute to Heroes, Free Stuff at Mo State Fair

SEDALIA – Saturday, Aug. 13 is Law Enforcement / Firefighter Appreciation Day, sponsored by Pepsi, the official soft drink of the Fair. Help show appreciation to Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMTs, and Paramedics who will receive FREE gate admission to the Fair with appropriate I.D. and $1 admission for immediate family members.

Swing by the Missouri State Fair Fire Department and congratulate them on 60 years of Fair service! Did you know it’s the only fully operational fire department in the United States that operates for only 11 days a year? WOW! Check out our website for a list of MSF Fire Department demonstrations that will take place at the Fair this year. 

Sunday, Aug. 14 is Military Appreciation Day, sponsored by GoNetspeed, a tribute to all military service men and women! The Fair is proud to honor all past and present military men and women who will receive FREE gate admission with appropriate I.D. and $1 admission for immediate family members. A Military Resource Fair will take place from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. just east of the Mathewson Exhibition Center and a “Show Me Strong” Military Appreciation Ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. inside the Mathewson Exhibition Center. Give a special thanks to GoNetspeed for providing free Wi-Fi service across the entire Fairgrounds.

Join us in honoring our military service men and women during the daily Military Flag Retreat Ceremony, sponsored by Capital Materials, Retrieving Freedom, Inc. and Starline Brass, in a new location in front of the Historic Administration Building. The

ceremony will take place at 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 11 and at 5:30 p.m., Aug 12-21. This year’s honorees will be announced soon.
