Missouri GOP releases web video featuring Gov. Parson tribute to fallen hero

JEFFERSON CITY—As the nation prepares to mark Memorial Day, the Missouri Republican Party has released a video featuring Governor Mike Parson paying tribute to Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, a Missouri native killed in Afghanistan in 2021.

“Last year, Governor Parson witnessed firsthand how Missourians come together in the face of tragedy,” said Charlie Dalton, Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party. “Governor Parson is a veteran, so he understands how important it is to honor those who have died protecting the freedom that so many of us take for granted.”

During the State of the State address earlier this year, Gov. Parson discussed his experience witnessing the community and state rally around the Schmitz family.

The video, backed by a digital ad buy, is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wnhhvKMXPE

VIDEO SCRIPT: Gov Parson: “In September, I stood on the tarmac when a young man made his return home and when a family found the courage to welcome him one last time. When a family felt pain and loss, I saw them embraced by friends, neighbors, and total strangers. In this challenging moment, I saw the best of who Missourians are.

And that’s why I’m proud to be the Governor of this great state.”
